How do you carry on?

Hey everyone! We're almost halfway through 2022! I'm not sure how to feel about that.

Like, I know I've done a lot: I've been in four art shows, one of which is my first solo show since 2018 and one which I helped curate with Richard Graves. I helped host the Pouncepunk art challenge with Richard, I've set up and sold at eight events so far, I danced in two performances, I launched my Etsy, I've been doing some commission work here and there, AND we're planning our wedding that's just a couple months away! Since leaving my job in November, I've stayed busy!

Oh, and Richard and I have been interviewed about the Pouncepunk challenge and group show THREE times! We were first interviewed by Anna Buchanan for Art Speaks back in January before the challenge started, which you can listen to on Spotify here. In May, Laken Bridges interviewed us for Art Speaks again, shortly before we put up the group show at Art Lab. Finally, last week, Richard, Laken, and myself appeared on WCYB 5's 12 o'clock news to talk about the challenge and the show!

We couldn't get a good version of the segment itself, so all I've got is this awkward video I took by pointing my phone at my computer monitor. It's shoddy, apologies, but hey, you can see me trying very hard not to look at the cameras, haha.

Oh, I also made a video walkthrough of the Pouncepunk show itself, which is still up until the end of this month!

I made that song myself using Soundtrap. It took a week.

Oh, and figure drawing has been going steadily! Here's some work from that:That second one was from a DELIGHTFUL meetup last month, on a private farm and with our first opportunity to draw older models! It was supposed to be outdoors the whole time, but it started storming about a half hour in and didn't stop, so we had to awkwardly huddle together on the porch, haha. Our next get-together is this Saturday!

Also last month was a reception for With Our Bodies. It was meant to be the closing reception, but the show is actually staying up until the end of the month, which is nice! There's still time to go see it at Salt of the Earth in Abingdon, VA!

So far this month, I set up at the Johnson City Art Pop-Up, which is organized by my friend Brandon Moorman, whose work you've hopefully seen before. This past weekend was also the Wytheville UFO Fest, for which I made some new work, like this adorable possum abduction sticker:
(you can now buy this and some other new goodies on my Etsy shop!!)

I've gained some new Patreon subscribers, and I'm much closer now to hitting the double digits, so please consider joining to get an early look at everything I do, including an upcoming exclusive comic!

Oh, and galleries in my Portfolio have been updated some. There's a new one up for fan art, since I'm doing more of that here and there. Poke around and see what's new!

So...not bad for the first half of this year, but at the same time, here's the rough thing:

I am not making enough money to live off of. Not yet, at any rate.

Sure, I'm busy, I've got work up in three shows right now (all of which come down at the end of the month), but it's just not enough. I have to figure something out. Events alone are not enough, while I did GREAT at ETSUcon and ArtStruck, the shows I've done since have not been as successful. Etsy sales are meager, and well, I could always use more subscribers on Patreon. Need to pump up those numbers and find a way to make this sustainable.

I'm not in any immediate financial danger, I made sure I had enough money saved up to carry me through this year before setting off, but...just knowing that this cannot be sustained as is has been stressful.

We're leaving for the beach this Sunday, and that'll be a nice break. After that will be the Rainbow Festival in Johnson City, TN on June 25th, and then I don't have anything lined up for July, which is honestly a bit of a relief. I need time to breathe and to try to plot out my next move.

Okay, that's enough typing. I'll leave y'all with this:

May I have this dance?

Aw crap we're already more than halfway through May and I'm just now working on a blog post? Let's see, let's see, what's going on...

With Our Bodies, my first solo art show since 2018, went up at the beginning of the month at Salt of the Earth in Abingdon, VA! The opening reception was scheduled for May 6th, but then we got with wicked storms and a big tornado warning, so we had to drop it. Instead, we're having a closing reception next Saturday, May 28th!

This is PROBABLY for the better, if only because SO MANY of my friends weren't going to be able to make it to the opening reception in the first place, which was a huge bummer before the storms rolled in and canceled everything!

This past weekend, I danced in my SECOND ever performance, with two of the same amazing friends, and it was an overwhelming experience. I only danced for part of the performance actually, before breaking off to an easel I had set up at the side of the stage so that I could draw the other two in motion, all set to Knee 5 by Philip Glass.

(picture taken by my fiancée!)

One of the drawings I did onstage was sold in the silent auction for the show to benefit Huschka House Transitional Living, along with some other pieces I donated. I actually did five drawings altogether for the performance itself, and the others got bought by one of the other performers in the show, which is nice!

ALSO LAST WEEK, Richard Graves and I put up our curated Pouncepunk group art show at the William King Museum's Art Lab! Featuring 28 works from 28 different artists, one for each Pouncepunk prompt, curated by the two of us! It'll be on display until the end of June! We also put up a suggestion board for people to write down prompts they'd like to see next year!

(This means that I am CURRENTLY in THREE separate art shows in Abingdon, as the Humor Me show at the William King Museum itself, featuring my Cosmic Adventures of Slimepunk minicomic, is still on display until July! That's...kind of crazy, actually!)

May 7th was Free Comic Book Day, and I got to set up at Mountain Empire Comics in downtown Bristol, an experience that I missed. I didn't do great saleswise, but still had fun.

Here's another painting for With Our Bodies:

I've worked on very few other things in April as I was finishing up the paintings for this show, and the period between hanging it and hanging the Pouncepunk show, on top of prepping for the dance performance, was chaotic, so I'm only just catching up on things this week. We had figure drawing last month on the 30th, which was a joy, and you can see work from that on the Defining Bodies Instagram page, along with our weekly poses.

We're meeting this Saturday too, and it's going to be a HUGE experience from the sounds of it. I'm so excited.

My current thing that I'm working on is commission work for a big project from a friend I've collaborated with before, none of which I can share right now, but he did give me permission to share some preliminary art that I've done over on my Patreon, which I will probably do...next week? Yeah, next week. If you're not subscribed, you should! Everything from this weekend's figure drawing gathering will be there this weekend, and I just today shared some newly finished Chainsaw Man and Digimon fanart!

I'm also getting things together for my next two shows after the closing reception for With Our Bodies: The Johnson City Art Pop Up on June 3rd and Wytheville UFO Fest on June 11th! There's a sticker design I did for the latter that I'm really happy with, which, again, you can currently ONLY see on Patreon. Oh, and I'm also signed up for the Rainbow Festival in Johnson City on June 25th!

I think that's it right now? Maybe? Probably?

Yeah, let's call it a day. Thanks so much for reading and for your support, take care!

Full Bodied Sprint

Hey folks! Got a lot to talk about. First off, I'm gonna get some important dates out of the way here:

This weekend is the SOLD OUT Bugs in the Garden show at Night Owl Circus Arts in Johnson City! I'll be performing in a beetle dance with my class both Friday and Saturday night, and it's gonna be weird and creepy and wonderful. I'm so excited for it. This will be my first time dancing in front of an audience! That's where most of my attention is focused for the moment.

April 23rd is my next art show, the Art Struck Festival in Johnson City. It's free, and I've got some dancer friends performing there as well!

The next day, April 24th, I will be at the William King Art Lab in Abingdon as part of my friend Laura Blankenship's weekly open studio thing, LAMB and Friends. I'll be set up painting for people to watch, as well as selling my stuff. More details on that should be on the way!

April 29th is my 34th birthday. Cool. And I guess I'm hosting figure drawing the next day, April 30th. Yay!

And then May's gonna be big:

Here's what I'm REALLY working on right now. With Our Bodies will be a body positive solo art show at Salt of the Earth in Abingdon, with its opening reception set for May 6th! Summer pitched the idea of having a show there sometime last year, so we've been plotting it for a while. I haven't had any solo shows since 2018, so for me, this is a big deal. I've still got a lot of painting to do, though! I've done two completely new paintings which can currently ONLY be seen on my Patreon, plus I just revised my Pouncepunk piece for Body to fit it into this show!

The very next day, May 7th, is Free Comic Book Day! I may or may not get to set up outside of Mountain Empire Comics that day, we'll see! Fingers crossed!

Also in May will be a Pouncepunk art show that Richard and I are hard at work on. The dates for that are still a little up in the air, but I'll let you know!

Oh, and I'm going to be in another performance! May 14th is ALL the FEELS, a mental health awareness benefit show in Kingsport. I'll be doing some dancing AND some live art for this, plus I'll have some stuff in the silent auction, which is going to be pretty cool!

And jumping ahead a little bit more, I'll be at the first annual Wytheville UFO Fest on June 11th, ROB-Con returns on September 3rd and 4th, and there maaaaayyyyy be some other events that I'm waiting to hear back on, too!

Having just had a pretty good time at ETSU-Con this past weekend, I am pumped for all of these. Also wow, that's a lot, isn't it? Dang. And hey, if you can't make it to any of these, there's always my Etsy shop! I just added some new prints last month, too!

I've been working on some other things too. Much like the cover sleeve I made for my Criterion Godzilla box set last year, I made one for my Arrow Video Gamera box set last month:

I've been posting Pokemon and Digimon fanart in my Instagram just to stay active over there, along with some other things. As usual, everything I do lately gets posted to Patreon first. Sign up there to see this stuff before anyone else does!

Okay, I uh, I think that's it. Time to get back to work! Take care!

Marchpunk?

Hey everyone! We're now a few days into March, and a few days out of the Pouncepunk challenge. It was a pretty big success, I'd say, with the #pouncepunk22 hashtag on Instagram having well over 1000 posts! We had a whole slew of artists, friends and strangers alike, participate alongside us, and it was so cool seeing new work from them every day!

You can see all of mine in the portfolio here, but here are a few later favorites I did:

Amidst February's push to get all of these pieces done before deadline, some other stuff happened. Last week, two different shows, in two different galleries in Abingdon, opened. First and foremost is Humor Me: the Art of Laughter at the William King Museum of Art, for which my original Cosmic Adventures of Slimepunk comic is on display!
This show will be up through July 3rd and is packed with strange and wonderful art, Slimepunk is in good company!

Additionally, I have this painting on display at the Abingdon Arts Depot as a part of their Animal Magnetism group show, called the Zone's New Guide:
Two VERY different works in two VERY different shows. I can imagine some strangers seeing both and coming out confused, haha.

Additionally, I've kept up the side gig of modeling for art classes at ETSU, and shifted from figure drawing to a painting class this week and next, plus I modeled again for figure drawing at the William King Museum's Art Lab. Still not making much money, so here's where I once more implore you to subscribe to my Patreon, buy something from my Etsy, or just throw a few bucks my way on Ko-fi, all of which are linked in the sidebar on the right. Or better yet, commission me!

So, anyways...what's next?

Work continues to some degree on the new Patreon exclusive comic I want to do. The Pouncepunk piece for Angel is a bit of a teaser, but here's another image I made up for it:

I admit I haven't started on any pages yet, but SOON.

Additionally, there's been some talk about a Pouncepunk show next month, and I've got a solo show in May that I've gotta start thinking about too.

OH, and my first show of the year is next month! I'll be at ETSUcon's return, April 2nd and 3rd! And I'm also confirmed for the Wytheville UFO Fest on June 11th!

Figure drawing continues. One of our members hosted last month, and I'll be hosting again next weekend. Here's an online pose I just finished up today:
I added the beetle myself, because, well, after ETSUcon, I'll be dancing in a bug-themed show at Night Owl Circus Arts in Johnson City on April 8th and 9th! We're doing a weird beetle type dance and I'm pretty pumped for it.

...I think that's it right now. Still waiting to find out whether or not I made it into the Artstruck Festival later in April in Johnson City, and I need to start hunting for more shows to do as well, along with other work. This whole not making much money thing kinda sucks, you know?

Anyways. Take care, see you next time!

Pouncepunk!

Hey everyone! We're just past a week into February, and the Pouncepunk art challenge by Richard Graves and I is in full swing! I made a dedicated gallery for it on here, and every morning I upload that day's new piece. Here are some of my favorites that I've done so far:

I'm kind of all over the place with these pieces, jumping from one medium to the next, trying to alternate between analogue and digital. It feels super inconsistent, but it keeps things interesting and hopefully keeps people engaged. I did get mad about my collage piece for Tuesday getting flagged and removed by Facebook though. It got flagged for nudity and sexuality, and I guess it registered the one small female presenting nipple there, or something. It's just...I hate it when social media takes down artwork simply for having naked human bodies, y'know?

Richard and I are pretty thrilled with the response so far, and even though it's tapered off after the first week, we're still seeing a lot of cool art from different folks all over on Instagram! If you check out the hashtag #pouncepunk22 over there, you'll see a pretty great variety!

I have about a five day lead right now, with a few more pieces started, so I'm just past the halfway mark myself. It's been a little tiring, but it's still a rush, especially seeing what others are making. Finished work gets posted ahead of time on my Patreon, if you don't feel like waiting. Just a dollar a month will get you so much content, plus a postcard with a doodle on it!

As far as trying to make a living goes...well, it's better than last month, but still slow. I'm getting a few Etsy sales here and there! I've got some commission work I'm doing in between Pouncepunk prompts, and, most exciting for me personally, I've started modeling for a figure drawing class once or twice a week at ETSU! I'll say it has been a bit surreal being back on campus for the first time in over a decade(!), and in the art building I practically lived in as a student, but it's been an enjoyable experience. It's also been a nice refresher for me to listen to the professor teach while I pose, so I get to do some learning myself.

I've also got some show stuff lined up, but it's too early to talk about any of that. ETSUcon in April for sure, plus some of the things I hinted at last month will be coming to fruition.

Figure drawing is going well too, but I don't have anything from that to show right now, sorry.

That's all for now, I guess. I'll write again once Pouncepunk is over! Gotta get back at it!

Punks Pouncing on 2022

Hey everyone! Happy new year! I have a lot to tell you about today.

First thing's first: Richard Graves and I are teaming up for a daily art challenge in February, which we're calling Pouncepunk! Here's the prompt list:

We're mostly pushing it on Instagram, and have gotten a pretty great response so far from artists who are interested in joining in. Promotion has also helped me gain followers, reaching 1000 today! I've been on Instagram for...probably a decade at least, and I only just hit that count, haha. So that's nice!

I haven't done a daily art challenge since 2017, so I know I'm rusty. I've been making thumbnails, and I've started some pieces ahead of time too, just to be sure. I've gotta nail all 28 days, so that's where my focus is right now. I've already set up a new gallery on this site, so that's where pieces will be uploaded!

My primary hope is that with a growing audience and such, that it'll help me really start making a living from art. I just launched my Etsy shop last week, with a variety of comics, prints, and social justice kaiju sticker and button packs available, so go check that out! If you subscribe to my Patreon, you get a free discount! Everything you see in this post was posted there first, so if you want early looks at everything I'm making, especially this year, that's the place to go.

Or if you just want to throw some money my way for no reason, there is of course my Ko-Fi as well.

(I'll be up front here: so far, things are moving slow. I have only made roughly $80 this month so far, and while I'm not in any financial trouble, I'm certainly going to need more help if I'm going to be able to actually make a living from art, so any little bit will help!)

Of course, Defining Bodies is still chugging along. I hosted a meetup two or three weeks ago, which was a great way to kick the year off, and we've been getting some good poses for our Discord server too.
And I've gotta keep drawing kaiju too, right? So here's a 1998 Godzilla that I did:

Hmm, let's see, what else...

I joined the Abingdon Arts Depot a couple weeks ago, and will be submitting pieces for some upcoming shows they have, including one next month.

I'm confirmed for the return of ETSUcon this year, April 2nd and 3rd. I've applied for another show at the end of April, and there's a possible dance performance thing I'll be involved with too, so that'll be a busy month.

I maaayyyyy be having a solo show somewhere in May? Hopefully? And another performance thing I may be involved with? We'll see!

There are other potential future things I've got my eye on too, but they're maybe too vague to bring up at the moment.

So yeah, things are really kicking off, and I've got a fairly good daily routine going, working on various things that I'm just not making money from yet, haha. But I've got all year to make it work, right? I think.

Let's hope it's a better year. Take care, y'all!

New Year, New Brettpunk

Hey folks!! Been meaning to type up a new blog post for a while now, but uh, well, the holidays.

Here's the really big news, which most readers are probably already aware of by now: I finally left my dayjob last month when we sold it! This had been on the cards for a long time now, and was supposed to have happened back in September, but we kept getting hit with delays until just days before Thanksgiving.

Since then, I've been slowly working out what all I need to do in order to get off the ground and really start making a living as an artist. It's been slow, clumsy, and inconsistent so far, but again, holidays and other stuff keeps happening and I'm still struggling to get a decent routine or workflow going because of it. We'll get there though, I think. I hope. I've got money saved up so I'll be alright financially, I can take my time and make sure I'm not rushing into anything, but I'm excited for next year.

Here's the part where I try to encourage you once again to subscribe to my Patreon. Almost everything I make goes up there first, especially figure drawing, and I still plan on launching an exclusive webcomic there next year too! It's a nice, affordable way to support me and what I do, and I would very much appreciate it!

As you have probably already noticed, I changed the name and banner for the website! Something I've been meaning to do for a while now! Hope you like it. It's a little more consistent now with my social media presence, though animatedtrigger.com still redirects here since it's on all of my books. I've got new business cards AND postcards too, ready to start going out next year!

Here's a little design thing I did for myself: a bluray sleeve for my Criterion Godzilla boxset! The glue in the original packaging was coming undone, putting the discs at risk so I had to buy a new case, and this is its cover! Yeah, I colored my charcoal drawing from last month. Looks good, right?

You'll notice on the sidebar to the right that I now have an Etsy shop. Right now, the first volume of Slimepunk is the only thing available on there, but in the next week or two I'll be getting my other books, prints, stickers, and buttons up on there too! Keep an eye on it!

Additionally, I now have an author's page on Amazon, with Kindle versions of Slimepunk, Other Sleep, and some minicomics all available to purchase! If you've read any of them before already, please consider rating and/or reviewing them as well? That'll help them get more attention!

Here's a cool thing I got to do this month: a member of my figure drawing group who teaches classes at Night Owl Circus Arts in Johnson City hosted a drawing session there with a few other instructors modeling for us! They did a lot of really cool, dynamic, short poses hanging from different aerial rigs, which was an amazing challenge. I took an easel, drawing pad, and charcoal with me so I worked large like that the entire time.

If you haven't noticed, I uh, have been really getting back into charcoal lately.

This one is from our online poses, which are still going pretty well!

Ah crap, I just realized I haven't changed or fixed up the commissions page on this site, but I should let you know all the same that I AM open for commissions! Prices are a little higher than what's up there right now, but I've posted about them here and there on social media and you are welcome to contact me to work something out. HIRE ME PLEASE.

Alright, I think that's all for now. See you next year!

Shorter, colder days

Just woke up from a nap and I'm a little bit flumoxed, so give me a moment. My last blog post was in September, yeah? Yeah. Okay. So I guess I've gotta talk about October.

I'll just be up front with you: I spent all of October pretty well depressed and I feel like I didn't do much of anything. Which isn't true!

I set up for three events last month, for three Saturdays in a row. The two big ones were the first annual Bristol in Bloom Art Festival, which was a joy to be a part of, and the return of the Frag-O-Ween Shock-O-Rama Art Party, which made me so damn happy. They were spikes of joy for sure.

On top of that, I signed on to model for some figure drawing classes being taught at the William King Museum of Art, which is kind of a dream come true and a very different vibe from my own little group.

So...WHY was I miserable the whole time? Because I was still stuck at my day job during all of this, and well, as of writing this, still am, though hopefully that will end this month? It's like being in limbo. Things are just dragging on and we're all sick of it, but it should be over soon, hopefully. I'm eager to pursue art full time.

Oh, and it's cold and it gets dark so early now, and...yeah.

November has been better though! I of course had to celebrate Godzilla's 67th birthday on the 3rd, and decided to break out the charcoal this time:I haven't modeled for that figure drawing class this month yet, but I attended last week's class and plan to attend this week's as well for the extra practice. I exclusively used charcoal last week too, and you can see the drawings from that over on my Patreon.

Also, I'm once more doing a thing I did last year that I called Nude November, which entails taking and posting daily nude self portraits over on my two NSFW accounts, with some choice ones getting posted on Patreon too. I'm sure you can find those if you want to.

Speaking of nudes, this Saturday I'll be hosting my figure drawing group once again! It'll be the second time I've managed to host this year, and I'm so excited that I made stickers for everyone! I'm going to be making barbecue weenies too, haha. I've also been tasked with making a playlist for a December figure drawing event that's going to be held at the studio where I've been taking my dance classes!

Man, I love figure drawing.

Online poses are still going too. Here's my fiancee in a Stitch onesie being a cryptid, which was this week's pose:

The only other show I have lined up is the Timber Nocturnal Art Market in Johnson City on December 12th. I'm planning on having new buttons and stickers for that one!

That's it I guess. I think things will really start moving again once I'm finally done with my job, so hopefully I'll have at least another blog post for y'all before 2022!

Dancing and Mothman

Hey folks, I almost let another two months come and go between new blog posts! Sorry about that. There's a lot going on.

First and foremost on the art front, I've started a new painting series inspired quite heavily by the dance classes I've been taking this year. This first one is called Free From the Binary, guess what it's about:

And second we have this more directly dance-inspired one called Freedom of Movement:

I have more in mind, of course, so this is just the beginning.

In important personal news: I AM NOW ENGAGED. We went to the beach for a solid week this month, and while there I awkwardly proposed to my girlfriend at one of her favorite places to visit, Atalaya Castle in Huntington Beach State Park, and she awkwardly said yes! We're both pretty thrilled. Here's the moonstone engagement ring I got her, along with some shark's teeth because finding and collecting teeth was our favorite beach activity:

A bunch of other stuff has been happening too. For one, my days at my regular job are numbered. Very soon (although later than I was hoping), I'll be quitting in an attempt to do art full time. This is...a little bit terrifying, but it's also exciting and I've been eager to do this for a long time now. The timing has never really been quite right, but I've got enough money saved to give it a shot!

I can't do it alone, obviously. Now's a pretty great time to commission work from me, if you've ever been considering it! Or you can subscribe to my Patreon for frequent updates on what I'm working on, support me thru Ko-fi, share my work on social media, or even buy something on Gumroad!

I'm going to be giving this website an overhaul too, if I can. At the very least, the name and URL will be changing, which also means new banner, new business cards, etc. I'd like to have a dedicated shop page here on the site, but I'm using an older version of Squarespace where I can't, so I'll have to do some digging to see what I can do. I don't really WANT to lose this blog, but...who knows!

OH. UPCOMING EVENTS: I'll be at the first annual Bristol in Bloom art festival on October 9th! After that, you can find me at this year's FRAG-O-WEEN show in Kingsport, TN! Finally, on December 12th I'll be set up at the Timber Nocturnal Art Market in Johnson City, TN! I'm really happy to be doing events again, for real.

(also: I'm going to be participating in an actual dance performance at Night Owl Circus Arts in November?! So that's something I'm really focused on right now)

With two October shows on the way, I realized I needed some spooky new work to sell, so allow me to present to you my own new take on Mothman, which I'll be selling prints of:

And that's it for now. I know I've left some things out: we had figure drawing in person once again earlier this month at a friend's house, which was wonderful, but most all of my drawings from that night were pretty bad, haha. Take care, and I'll try to remember to write again soon!

Chest pains

I was meaning to write a blog post in June, but...June was a lot. I had a car accident early in the month, work has been stressful for various reasons, there was a repeat of March's family medical emergency, AND at the end of the month I myself had my first thrilling trip to the ER, where after keeping me for five hours and taking multiple tests, they released me after finding nothing wrong despite how I was feeling. So...yeah! Not great!

There was some good, though: after a friend hosted figure drawing in his home at the end of May, which I got to take part in, I hosted my group Defining Bodies on June 12th for the first time in 16 months! We had a great turnout and amazing models, and it was just so good. Both meetups were small, limited to a certain number of vaccinated folks. My drawings on both nights weren't great, but it was a welcome return, and felt like a dormant part of myself had awakened. I felt whole again. I missed it so much! If you're subscribed to my Patreon at the $5 tier, you can go back see EVERYTHING I drew, as well as the continuing weekly poses from our online space.

I need to break the text in this post up with art of course, so here's last week's pose which I'd taken myself of my girlfriend at the lake:

I've spent part of this week hammering out the details for another figure drawing meetup at the end of the month with a different host, as well as starting to plot out when I can host in August. We've already got someone planning to host us in September too! Figure drawing lives on and I'm so happy about it!

Also in June, I took another quick, short paid comics gig illustrating a five page thing for Mark Stack! It revolves around some of the same characters from a different project we never got off the ground last year, and was cool to revisit them.

If you sign up for his Patreon that he's set up for the entire project, you'll get to read the whole thing! Here's a finished page sans dialogue:After finishing that up, I was itching to work on more comics, so I've got a new Another Dream short on the way starring Ninel. It's only two pages, and will be up on Other Sleep tomorrow! Again, Patreon subscribers have already gotten to read it, and they got to see process stuff too.

Been trying to map out things for the rest of the year too, with the big change I hinted at in my last post starting to come up. First off, I will once again be at Projexx in Johnson City this Saturday the 17th for the JC Punk Flea, along with a number of artist friends! The one I did back in May was a lot of fun and ended with music, as will this one!

On August 7th, you'll find me at the Music and Makers Craft Festival at the William King Museum of Art

I've applied for a show in September, but won't hear back on that until next month, I think, so we'll skip it for the moment, but October is going to be STACKED. On October 9th I'll be at the Bristol in Bloom Art Festival. The weekend after that, October 16th, I will be at Bristol's TriPride! And the weekend after THAT...well, I'm not sure we can talk about that one yet but it's a returning show that I'm extremely excited for.

So yeah! I'll be busy later this year! After only doing ONE single event last year, this feels like playing catchup. And they're necessary shows too!

I've got other things planned out too, but again, can't really talk about those. Not here at any rate. I've opened up about a couple things on Patreon, and will do more for sure though. And of course I've gotta get back to Slimepunk!

Oh, one last thing: here's a painting I finally finished back in May, which I'd actually started in October or November of last year, called Slow Motion Splintering:

Okay, yeah, I think that's everything for now. Take care, see you next time!
